MOZA has partnered with the independent project FFB-Bridge to bring working force feedback to its flight simulation hardware on Linux and macOS, according to an announcement posted on the company’s own blog. The move ends a run where force feedback on MOZA’s flight controls only worked reliably under Windows. BoxThisLap, a site that covers simracing hardware and software releases, reported on September 3, 2026 that the partnership itself went live on September 1 and gives FFB-Bridge direct access to MOZA hardware and official SDK resources, plus a working line to the company’s technical team.
Force feedback drivers for flight and racing hardware have stayed Windows-only across most of the market for years. Third-party attempts to close that gap have relied on reverse-engineering USB traffic, then hoping nothing broke on the next firmware update. This time, per BoxThisLap’s reporting, MOZA is cooperating directly with the project: FFB-Bridge’s developer now gets official documentation and hardware samples from the company.
The MOZA Flight Lineup Covered by the Deal
The news covers MOZA Flight, the flight simulation hardware line built by parent company Gudsen, separate from the MOZA Racing wheelbases most simracers associate with the brand. FFB-Bridge is a free desktop application that turns live aircraft telemetry from supported flight sims into force feedback effects for compatible controls. It processes that data locally on the machine it runs on and doesn’t require an account to use its core functionality, according to BoxThisLap.
BoxThisLap is explicit that the announcement applies to MOZA Flight hardware alone and leaves MOZA’s racing wheelbases without Linux or macOS support. The R5 Pro, R5, R9, R12, and R16 Ultra sit outside this partnership entirely and continue to rely on whatever separate, community-built Linux tools exist for them.
AB6, AB9, AY210: What FFB-Bridge Actually Supports
Three current MOZA Flight products are listed as supported in FFB-Bridge’s present builds. A fourth, the newer AY90, is described as planned rather than validated, pending hardware access and physical testing from the FFB-Bridge team.

The AB6 sits at the entry point of the lineup, pairing a 6 Nm base with MOZA’s MHG flightstick — a combination BoxThisLap describes as offering enough torque for light general-aviation and combat-stick handling without the bulk of the higher-end bases. The AB9 steps up to a stiffer, dual-servo design rated up to 12 Nm peak, which BoxThisLap says gives pilots more configurable output across different aircraft profiles. The AY210 swaps the stick layout entirely for a yoke, with 210 N of pitch force, 9 Nm of sustained roll resistance, and 150 mm of travel, which BoxThisLap notes suits general aviation and airliner simulation. All three devices already worked with FFB-Bridge before September 1; that date moved them onto the project’s officially supported list, backed by documentation MOZA didn’t previously make public.
Platform Support Differs Between Linux and macOS
Platform coverage isn’t symmetrical. On Linux, FFB-Bridge works with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 running through Proton, Steam’s built-in Windows compatibility layer, alongside native Linux builds of X-Plane 11 and X-Plane 12. macOS support is narrower: BoxThisLap notes that current documentation limits it to Apple Silicon Macs running X-Plane 12, while Microsoft Flight Simulator connectivity stays confined to Windows and Linux. The software ships as an AppImage on Linux and as a packaged app on macOS, alongside the Windows build that already existed.
A Linux user running MSFS through Proton or X-Plane natively gets four supported simulator paths across two titles. A Mac user gets exactly one — X-Plane 12 — and only on newer Apple Silicon hardware; older Intel Macs are excluded outright, and Microsoft Flight Simulator doesn’t reach macOS through this tool at all.
MOZA’s Direct Support for FFB-Bridge’s Developer
FFB-Bridge already worked with a handful of MOZA devices before this partnership existed, but that support came from community testing, bug reports filed from a distance, and independent digging into how the hardware actually behaved.
MOZA hasn’t announced a native Linux or macOS build of MOZA Cockpit, its own Windows configuration software; force feedback on non-Windows systems routes through FFB-Bridge, with MOZA supplying hardware access and SDK documentation.
How the Arm and Disarm Workflow Works
According to FFB-Bridge’s own documentation, cited by BoxThisLap, a connected base keeps running on its standard MOZA Cockpit configuration until FFB-Bridge is armed. At that point the application temporarily takes over force feedback behavior, handing control back to the previous configuration once it’s disarmed or closed. The workflow runs roughly like this:
- Install FFB-Bridge — the AppImage on Linux, the packaged build on macOS, or the existing Windows installer.
- Launch the flight sim first, with the compatible MOZA device connected.
- Open FFB-Bridge and arm it so it takes over force feedback output from the base.
- Fly with telemetry-driven effects while FFB-Bridge stays armed.
- Disarm or close FFB-Bridge to return the base to its standard configuration.
The arm and disarm commands stop MOZA Cockpit and FFB-Bridge from writing conflicting force feedback commands to the same base at the same time.
DCS World Support Is Not Included
The current platform list is narrower than the full range of simulators MOZA Flight hardware is normally paired with. DCS World, one of the most widely used combat flight simulators and a common match for force feedback sticks, doesn’t appear in FFB-Bridge’s currently documented support. Airliner and general-aviation pilots running X-Plane or MSFS have a working path today. Combat sim pilots on DCS World don’t, and BoxThisLap’s report doesn’t say whether or when that changes.
What’s Still Missing
macOS is the thinner half of this rollout. One supported simulator and an Apple Silicon requirement cut out older Intel Macs and, for now, the biggest flight sim title on that platform. Linux users get the wider deal, with two simulators running natively and two more through Proton, but DCS World support isn’t there, and BoxThisLap’s report gives no timeline for whether it’s coming. The AY90, MOZA’s newest yoke, remains unvalidated hardware, so anyone who’s bought it shouldn’t expect Linux or macOS force feedback out of the box just yet.
Who’s Actually Building This
BoxThisLap frames FFB-Bridge as an independent project that MOZA now backs with hardware, documentation, and technical support; Gudsen didn’t build the tool in-house. The distinction shapes how the software develops from here — it remains a third-party application, but its developer no longer has to reverse-engineer how MOZA’s hardware behaves on every firmware update. Pilots who’ve kept a Windows virtual machine or a dual-boot partition running solely to get force feedback out of their MOZA Flight hardware now have a documented, supported alternative on Linux and macOS, provided their setup falls inside the three devices and four simulator paths currently listed.
