How the iRacing schedule works

iRacing is organised into twelve-week seasons. Inside each season every series runs a set weekly track that changes every week, so the car stays the same while the circuit moves — that weekly rotation is the rhythm most drivers follow. Alongside the regular series, iRacing schedules its special events across the year: full-length endurance races based on real-world classics, open to anyone with the licence and the practice to enter. Licences and safety rating

Access to series and events is gated by iRacing’s licence system. You start on a Rookie licence and progress — D, C, B, A — by racing cleanly and building your Safety Rating, which measures incidents per corner rather than raw pace. Higher-tier series and the biggest endurance specials require the matching licence class, so knowing what is coming up is also a reason to plan which races will move your rating in time.
